Which should I use?

Both work well for daily synthesis and standups. The difference shows in performance reviews:

  • Groq โ€” fastest inference, highest daily request limit. Best for multiple syntheses per day.
  • Gemini โ€” 1M token context means the entire history fits in one prompt. Better for very detailed long-period reviews.
Switching providers

Update devlog.apiKey in Settings (Cmd+,) with your new key. DevLog detects the provider from the key prefix automatically. No restart needed.

Rate limits

DevLog makes 4 parallel AI calls per synthesis (summary, standup, work areas, decisions) and 2 calls for performance review. A typical day uses fewer than 10 requests โ€” well within both free tiers.
